§ 46-5. Signs, notices—Attaching to poles, trees.

Latest version.
  • (a)

It shall be unlawful for any person to nail, tack, paste or in any other manner attach, or cause to be attached, any sign or notice to any telegraph, telephone or electric power poles or any public property whatsoever in the town or on any trees on or along the streets or sidewalks of the town.

    (b)

The town manager may issue a permit for the erection of directional signs on street rights-of-way for a period not to exceed three days. In making application for such permit, adequate information shall be provided to the town manager such that he can ensure that the public's safety is maintained and that adequate provisions have been made for the removal of such signs at the end of the permit period. This does not, however, authorize the attachment of any sign to any appurtenance identified in this section.
